- Job Summary
- The Sonographer is accountable for performing a variety of technical and diagnostic procedures in Ultrasound as assigned.
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of the ultrasound department, to include the ultrasound operations at the Breast Center.
- Participate in process improvement projects as designated by administration or director, such as patient satisfaction or other quality improvement projects.
- Ensure policies, standard protocols, and procedures are followed and maintained.
- Participates in the instruction of students and other staff.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate’s degree is required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, or accredited ultrasound school, or equivalent specialty. Must have passed the ARDMS, American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer's board exam.
- A minimum of one year experience in general ultrasound and vascular procedures is preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
- Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in ultrasound or advanced certification in Ultrasound by ARDMS or equivalent.
Work Schedule
- Day shift; 80 hours 2 weeks
- Every 4th holiday
- Call time once a week and every 4th-5th weekend
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. The actual hourly rate is dependent upon experience.
